6 Months

Nathan turned 6 months on Saturday so we took a little road trip out to Trona Pinnacles to take some "desert" pictures.  It was a beautiful day and fun to see something a little different and explore a little bit.  Nathan also had his first "poop in the tub" incident, which cracks me up . . . mostly because Carl was the one giving him a bath :).  This past week we tried Avocados and it took a couple of tries before Nathan decided that he liked them (I think it's a texture thing).  Today we are trying apples, so that should be fun.  So, to date we have had ~ Sweet Potatoes, Bananas, & Avocados.  We put Nathan in the church nursery for the first time at the new church (actually other than at my dad's church, where I knew the women there,  it's the first time ever to leave him with strangers).  We both survived and I'm hoping it will get easier each time!

Now for pictures! Yes! I actually spent over an hour yesterday uploading them from my camera.  We will start with Christmas and go to the present.  I hope you enjoy them!

no, this was not the poop day :)

The Big Move ~ 5 1/2 months

I'm so off on my weeks, I have no idea how many Nathan is until I can get my calendar back up :).

Well, we made it to our new destination.  New town, new views, new house.  Nathan is adjusting well, Abby is taking a little more time (as am I).  Carl will start his new job on the 21st, and will be another big adjustment for all of us (we've enjoyed having him home the last couple of months)! The desert has its own beauty, which I am grateful for.  We are surrounded by mountains and nothing else (which is a little difficult for me to get used to) the nearest "big" town is an hour and a half away!
In other news .  . . Nathan's first tooth popped through on Friday, with another one soon to follow.  He  had his first "real" food this week too.  I am making his baby food, so we started out with Sweet Potatoes.  He LOVES them! One more day of those and then we will introduce bananas.  He is getting better at sitting and enjoys standing!  He is the highlight of my days with his beautiful smile and bright eyes!  He is starting to laugh when you tickle him and I am so thankful that we have all stayed healthy to this point!

again, sorry for the lack of pictures, I will try to get all that up and running soon!

5 months (22 weeks) & Christmas

NATHAN'S FIRST CHRISTMAS! He also turned 5 months on Christmas Day!  He must have been excited to see what Santa brought him because he was up at 3:30 am.  Now, I don't blame him because in the past I've been known to wake up a little early out of the excitement for the day, but 3:30 was a little early even for me :).  He did great though.  We opened presents at my parents house, then went over to my sister's house to see the cousins and then headed up to my grandparent's house to see some more family!  It was a great day celebrating Jesus' birthday and spending it with lots of family.  We headed up to Carl's parents house on the 26th for a night and then back home to prep for the big move . . . which is happening quicker than I am ready for! But God is Good and everything is slowly (or quickly) happening the way it needs to.
Nathan is being a trooper with all that is happening and last minute errands, and, and, and :).  He is so much fun to play with.  He loves to bounce on your legs to "ride a pony", and today he smiled big with "wheels on the bus".  Naps are not happening much today, so that's now my que to go :).  another post with pictures to follow hopefully before the move :).

20 weeks

I was horrible at taking pictures this week, but we did get some professional ones done.  Nathan is doing amazing.  He is getting stronger at sitting by himself and eats most of his cereal.  He loves to grab his feet and is sticking everything in his mouth!   Carl has been offered a job and we have accepted it, so a move is in our near future.  Things have been a little hectic around here, but Nathan is adapting very well to it all.  We are thankful for a God who always provides and we look forward to celebrating Him & His love for us this next week!

Week 19

We finally made the decision to decorate for Christmas! We had been wanting to do some, with it being Nathan's First Christmas, but with everything so up in the air right now, we weren't sure how much to do.  So, this past week . . . we did it all :).  We got down the Christmas boxes and decorated the inside & out and yesterday we got a tree! My spirit is lifted knowing that even though little man is still too young to know what's going on, at least he will have pictures of his First Christmas with pretty decorations!  We also took him to see Santa, and he was too cute!
On a slightly different note, Nathan had his 4 month check up.  All is looking well.  The new pediatrician we are seeing wants to have Nathan's birthmark on his head checked out just to make sure that it isn't bothering his skull or brain.  Which I'm glad that he would rather be safe than sorry! His stats for this visit are :
      Weight - 14 lbs 11 oz
       Height - 26 inches
       Head  -  10.5

So, he is in the average percentile for weight and a little above average for height.  The worse part of the appointment was the shots! He screamed bloody murder, and therefore I cried too!  My poor baby.  I wish I could take those shots for him!  But he is a trooper and within a day or two he was back to his normal happy self!
Oh, I almost forgot - We tried cereal for the first time last night.  It didn't go over too well.  I think he was too tired and just wanted his bottle, so we will try again this morning, hopefully with more success . . . if not, we will try it again in a week or two!

18 weeks - Giving Thanks

We had so much fun this past week! We traveled up to see Grandma & Grandpa and spent a week with them.  We met Uncle Gary on Tuesday, who smiled big when he saw Nathan.  We played lots with Aunt Michelle and had fun watching the cousins play.  Thanksgiving was a beautiful day, and we all gave thanks for family.  Saturday we made our way home, but first had a quick visit with Yaya & Gramps.  (Abby & Nathan both got new toys) :)  So loved!  (on a sad note:  Uncle Gary passed away on Sunday morning, December 1st.  We were blessed with the opportunity to meet him & say our "see you laters".)

4 months (2 days early)

Monday Nathan will be 4 months!  Incredible. He has had several milestones this week . . . He can roll over from his back to his tummy, and he usually naps on his tummy now.  Today he rolled from his tummy to his back, so that was fun!  We think he is cutting or starting to cut a tooth, but who knows for sure :).  We also started reading The Jesus Storybook Bible in the afternoons.  My sister got it for Nathan and she warned me about how touching it is . . . yep, cried all the way through  the first chapter, "In the beginning".  We celebrated Daddy's Birthday on Wednesday and went to Cambria for the night.  It was Nathan's first time in a hotel.  He did great, but we will probably wait awhile to do it again (It stressed me out too much :)  ).  So here are some pictures from our eventful week!

Lots of smiles & Lots of drool

He looks a little like the kid from A Christmas Story with his arms, but still super cute!
