9 months

We've done a lot this past week.  With Nathan turning 9 months on the 25th, we have tried more foods (with a lot still to try).  He likes yogurt bites (a snack), we tried prunes, garbanzo beans, and blueberries.  He is also eating peas whole (he didn't care for them blended).  Nathan loves to drink out of a "big" cup and his new favorite thing is sitting on daddy's shoulders, while holding on tight to his hair.  We tried another "art project" too.  I think these projects are more for me, something else to do than just "play".  He still loves bath time and with Carl working nights, we have had to adjust our routine a bit so that I can bathe him.  It's working out well and I love this time him.  I haven't done 9 month pictures . . . It was very windy on Friday, and it's just been one of those weeks . . . but here are some from this past week and some of the activities we enjoy doing!

 look mom, I'm outside!!

25 Weeks

This little boy continues to grow . . . apparently he's the size of a rutabaga (13.5 inches) and should weigh about 1.5 lbs (according to Baby Center).  I'm in my last week of my 5th month, so that's exciting.  He continues to move around a lot, especially after I eat anything sugar.

On a side note:  our house officially sold yesterday - it was a short sale, and although I am very sad that it isn't our house anymore, I am very grateful that everything happened so quickly.  It has been a huge weight on our shoulders, and for me the emotional aspect of it hit a lot harder than I anticipated.  So many memories . . . but I keep reminding myself that "a house is just a house.  it's the people that make it a home." And to have my husband home to help raise our kiddos instead of being out at sea for months on end, means so much to both of us!

8.5 Months

My son is going to be 9 months at the end of this week!  AHHHHHHH, can someone please slow down time a little???  Nathan is so much fun though!  This week I found out that he loves to play "chase".  He knows just where to go (Abby's food) for me to go get him.  The other day he laughed and laughed when I was crawling behind him and would "get him" every once in a while.  He also started "kissing" - mostly himself (in the mirror, on the phone, etc), but he's also started kissing my tummy while he is in highchair.  Of course I think it's the cutest thing ever (even when I end up with baby food all over my shirt :)  )
Food wise we are starting to give him little chunks of food that he is already eating.  He loves it!  especially the food that he wouldn't eat all mashed up - zucchini, yellow squash, carrots.  We have also just tried greek yogurt in the mornings.  So far, so good.
We are adjusting to Carl being on night shift (on day 3 today).  I think it will be ok & Carl is looking forward to being able to see Nate a little more.

Easter was nice.  We dyed eggs on Saturday . . . a friend posted how to dye eggs with whipping cream & food coloring in a bowl and then you just roll the eggs around.  Nathan is still a little too young, but I think it will be a hit next year and the eggs turn out pretty with different colors on them.  Carl painted my tummy like an egg (sorry folks, no pictures of that!), but I wanted to include the littlest and then we took a picture or two with Nathan.  Easter Sunday we went to church and then had a yummy tri-tip before Carl left for work.  It was a beautiful day and Nathan was very cooperative when I wanted to take pictures outside.

24 weeks

Not much has been going on with little man #2.  He is still moving around like crazy and I am getting HUGE!  I have to put Nathan down to stand/get up and then pick him up once I'm standing.  I had my monthly check up yesterday and all was well.  16 weeks to go :)

8.4 Months

I've been trying to upload photos for the last week, but for some reason I'm not able to :(.  I'll keep trying though.  We had a fun week!  We made art with plastic Easter Eggs and yesterday we made shakers out of plastic Easter Eggs!  Gotta love easy projects that are fun for everyone!  It's also been very warm this past week, so we set up a little "splash pool" that I had bought a couple of months ago.  Nathan likes it when the water isn't flowing, and I think he'll like it more when the water is a little warmer :).  My little baby, is growing so fast!  I can't take it all in fast enough.  He is saying "mama", not yet in context, but I have to admit it's my favorite sound right now :).  He says it a lot, I think he likes the feel of the "mmmm", or the sound of it.  It doesn't matter - I could listen to it all day.
I recently looked up in the BABY BULLET book about when they suggest  introducing meats and chunks of steamed vegies . . . it's at 9 months . . . I cried.  It's all happening so quickly.  Nathan will be 9 months the end of next week!
Last night was the "Blood Moon".  I was fortunate enough to have Nathan wake up a little after midnight so I got him back to sleep and stepped outside to see it and take a few pictures.  (If I can ever get my pictures back up on here, I'll post them).

8.3 Months

We have had quite a week!  Nathan is crawling & exploring everything & everywhere!  We have two gates up so that I can actually get a few things done instead of chasing after him :).  He loves to drink out of your cup (without a straw).  He bites down on the cup and takes a drink (with help, of course).  He is "talking" up a storm and I love to hear how his "words" have changed since he first started babbling.
We have realized that he is somewhat allergic to store-bought baby food.  I make most of his baby food at home, but have some back ups for when we are going to be out and about at lunch or dinner.  Unfortunately, we wont be able to do that anymore because it gives him gas and causes him pain.
AND the biggest news this past week is that Nathan got 2 more teeth in!  (It explains the not wanting to nap)!  His top 2 front teeth are peeking through.  He is getting back to his normal happy self now :).

22 weeks or 5 months :)

According to Baby Center, I am officially in my 5th month of pregnancy.  I am feeling well and as of last night was able to feel the littlest from the outside.  I really haven't had many cravings this pregnancy, although beef always tastes better than chicken :)  (even when I'm not prego).   The wind here has been horrible, so we haven't been outside much . . . I will be grateful when we can get some walks in.  I am trying to walk on the treadmill, but I feel very tired most of the time right now.  The littlest is about the size of a spaghetti  squash and 1ish pounds.  I am finding it harder to get up off of the floor, especially trying to take Nathan with me . .  so I am working on finding better ways to do so :).

8.2 Months

As my brain slowly turns to mush (reading too much Goodnight Moon?), I have started keeping a journal of milestones or things to put in the blog.  I wish I could remember it all on my own, but I can't.
This past week Nathan started to walk along the couch.  He prefers to be standing up and walking rather than crawling, and he is getting braver with trying to stand on his own (has even done it for a second or two), but he knows to fall on his rear-end, which he does most of the time.
He had fun playing Yaya & Gramps, (my parents) who came to visit for the day on Friday (28) when we found out for sure that he is going to have a BROTHER.  They brought him a new ball, which he loves & of course his new bathtub!
We tried eggplant, but found out yesterday that he is allergic, so we are now trying cantelope.  He also had his first fever (99) on Monday, but it went away fairly quickly.  I'm hoping that it is his teeth - he's been drooling a ton the last couple of days.

We are going through another phase, the "I don't want to nap, but I'm so tired I need a nap" phase.  I just don't know what do about it.  I feel guilty for putting him in his crib so often, but I know he needs to sleep.  Wish I had more answers.
