7.4 Months

I decided to separate the two kids entries, so I will try to keep Nathan's updates on Tuesday or Wednesday and baby #2 on Wednesday or Thursday.

Nathan continues to impress me with all the new things that he does/ is learning.  Late last week I caught him in his crib standing up! So, we again lowered the crib.  He is getting so strong and will now pull himself, or try to pull himself up on anything and everything . . . and he has quite a grip (so don't let him try to pull himself up by your lip - not fun! ).

Monday he started clapping by himself.  He would always put his hands on my hands when we sang and clapped, but he did it all by himself.  I love watching him do new things . . . and for that matter old things :).
We tried carrots and asparagus this past week.  He likes the carrots, but not so much the asparagus.  He still loves his cheerios & other snacks and so we have been working on the sign language for "more".  He thinks it's funny, but I think he will be signing it before we know it.
Poor baby has a little cold today.  So, I am going to keep this short.

Tomorrow I have my 20 week (1/2 way done!!!) appointment at the doctors, so I will try to do a post on baby #2 tomorrow!

7.3 months & 19 weeks

He did it!  Nathan is crawling forward . . . albeit very slowly and just enough to where he can throw his arms out on his stomach and reach whatever it is he is after :).  I love watching him try to figure out the best way, or the easiest way to get what he wants, and then after obtaining it sitting up and playing with it.
He has been drooling a lot the last week or so and his top gum is swollen, so I am anticipating a tooth coming in shortly.  We are going to try asparagus and carrots  for new foods this week, and maybe beans. They suggest peaches too, but they aren't in season and I'd rather wait for fresh peaches than use canned.
Nathan is growing so fast.  Carl says over and over how much he changes from day to day, and it is so true.  Lately he watches as you move your fingers (similar to a waving hello or good-bye) . . . today he moved them just like I did.  He is getting better at holding things too.  His cup & his spoon and he continues to improve on feeding himself cheerios.  His 9 month onsies are getting close to being too small . . . so, I'm thankful that I bought some extenders!  His legs seem to be of average length, but his torso is long!
We played with bubbles one day this past week . . . he was over tired and cranky and it was the best idea I had, so we tried it.  He watched them "fly" around, but it was a short time outside :).

This little babe inside of me is doing well . . . as far as I know.  I did feel him/her move a little on Sunday in church, but haven't felt anything more yet . . . I'm thinking its because I was able to be still on Sunday, but since haven't really had much of a chance to concentrate on any more movement.  I didn't feel Nathan move until 24-26 weeks, so I was grateful to feel this one at 18 weeks.  Hopefully I will be able to feel him/her move more often soon :)

7.2 months & 18 weeks

this post is of random things . . . sorry . . .
Nathan is CRAWLING . . . BACKWARDS, but still crawling.  He is amazing.
We tried the last two fruits/vegetables - pear & yellow squash . . . and he likes both.
He can also pick up cheerios by himself and put them in his mouth.  He is the cutest!

We also took a little drive on Saturday (in the rain) up north looking for snow, but we didn't last that long.  It was still a beautiful drive and nice to get out of the house for a little bit.

Carl & I celebrated our 7th anniversary on Monday.
I listened to the baby's heartbeat this past week and got a reading of 154 :) . . . love that sound!

7 Months & 17 weeks (as of today)

My first born turned 7 months yesterday.  Where has the time gone?  I thank God for him everyday! He continues to watch and learn.  His smile brings joy and his kisses are slimy but the best kind of slimy! I'm not sure if he is going to crawl or not, but I am sure he is going to be mobile in some sense soon.  We took Nathan to the park yesterday (for the first time) and took his 7 Month pictures.  He loved the sand . . . well, he loved eating the sand :/.

The newest little is 17 weeks as of today.  I am feeling well, tired, but well.  I scheduled the anatomy scan for the end of March (which will put me at 21 weeks) and I am so excited to see it move around and hopefully get some good pictures!

We finally saw some rain today, and although we've been enjoying the beautiful warm weather, I know we desperately need the rain too.

6.4 Months & 15 weeks

Well, I waited until after my apt yesterday to post because I was hoping to have some new pictures of the littlest babe, but no go.  BUT all is well, and for that I am grateful!
Nathan is almost 7 months!  Time is flying and he is growing so quickly.  This past week he started pushing himself up on his feet and then yesterday I found him in his crib sitting up . . . so he went from laying down to sitting.  He is amazing!  He no longer fits into 6 month clothing, and in some pajamas he doesn't even fit in the 9 month . . . he has a long torso and long legs.
He loves toes. . . . any toes ~ his toes, my toes, your toes, it doesn't matter he is fascinated by them.  Nathan loves to hear singing and gets the biggest smile on his face.  He also likes "This Little Piggy" on his toes.  We sing - Jesus Loves Me, Slippery Fish, Wheels on the Bus, Clap Your Hands, & Brush Your Teeth . . . we are starting "Clean Up" & "Itsy Bitsy Spider".

We took a weekend trip to visit family in the Modesto area and had a great time. Yaya got Nathan some new treats (which he loves) AND he got to take a bath in the sink . . . he found the running water to be lots of fun!!  (& then my parents came down yesterday for a quick trip . . . it was sooooo good to see them!!)  On our way home from Modesto we took a side trip back to Lemoore to see our friends/neighbors (who were/are like family).  We had such a nice weekend!

6.3 months & 15 weeks

Nathan finally had his 6 month check up & shots this week.  We saw a new pediatrician, whom I really like (& all the nurses & staff are great with him)!  He weighs 17 lbs 12 oz, and is somewhere between 26 & 28 inches (I just can't remember).  He did amazingly well with his shots, such a brave boy!
The weather has been beautiful!  We went outside on Tuesday to play in the grass for a little bit and enjoyed the sunshine.  We also took some Valentine photos for fun!
We are trying to get Nathan used to a sippy cup  . . . he will drink out of it if you hold it for him . . . I'm hoping he will start to do it by himself soon!  He is getting better at grabbing things and holding them and was even able to use his pincher fingers to get a Cheerio and put it in his mouth :).  He is getting so big!  We are eating food 3 times a day now, and this afternoon we will be trying zucchini.  He is eating his fruits better (banana & apple) and we tried peas this past week (he does ok with them, but the texture is different).

I have a dr. appointment next Thursday to take another peak at the baby.  So, I am excited to hopefully get some more pictures of this new little one.

Cheerios, a cold, & a Sibling

Nathan tried Cheerios for the first time last week, he loves them!  Although if they sit on his tongue in just the right spot he gags, but other than that he is doing great with them!

He got his first cold this week, which was a huge bummer for me (although I knew it was coming with him being in the nursery ~ I just wasn't expecting it so soon).  We are on day 3, and he is finally feeling a little better!

The other BIG NEWS is that Nathan will soon have a baby brother or sister to play with! Yep, baby #2 is due August 6, 2014 (baby is 14 weeks).
 above - 6 weeks
below - 14 weeks (face)

And yes, that is only about 2 weeks after Nathan's 1st birthday.  And yes, we are crazy :).  Prayers are appreciated as we are still transitioning into this new area, and growing babies.
